Environmental issues

Belgium's most significant environmental problems are air, land and water pollution due to the heavy concentration of industrial facilities in the country. The sources of pollution range from nuclear radiation to mercury from industry and pesticides from agricultural activity.

About Aäron

Aaron believes that by telling stories about topics such as plastic pollution and bycatch, his discoveries on the beach, and the actions he regularly carries out he educates, inspires and motivates citizens and politicians to become change-makers.

Aäron works for the Flemish environmental agency (VMM) and is a team member of Circle of Sustainable Europe (CoSe).

Aaron is also a citizen scientist and volunteer of the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences (RBINS) and the Belgian beach work group where he is an expert in marine litter, researching transatlantic objects and alien species.

Aaron is active in cleanup organizations like Proper Strand Lopers.
