About my Subject
Living on a small island, Andre fell in love with the sea at an early age. He learnt to snorkel and then dive and by the age of 16 was working in a dive shop and passing his PADI test. He went on to study marine science at university and then had a spell working in government documenting the state of the islands marine biodiversity.
Andre wanted to have a more hands on approach to marine conservation and made two changes. He opened a dive centre to open more people’s eyes to the world underwater to help spread the word about it’s importance. With his team he investigated and developed simple ways to repair and transport corals to help return the damaged reef to its previous glory.
Andre lives for the ocean and regularly runs sessions with local primary schools to bring on the next generation of underwater ambassadors
