Environmental issues

The primary environmental concern in Bulgaria is still industrial pollution usually in relation to the heavy industry established during the Soviet sphere of influence.

About Rada

Rada started her blog, Thrift Sheep, in 2017 to spread information about buying second hand and moving to a low waste lifestyle. Little information was available in Bulgaria. In 2019 this expanded in to the Thrift Sheep podcast and whilst low waste is still at the centre of the podcast, Rada has now broadcast on a wide range of environmental subjects. These include microplastics, biodiversity, human rights and climate refugees, seasonal food, and sustainable fashion

Rada has teamed up with other environmentalists to inform and lobby the government to address important concerns and are suing the government for its' decision to built an incineration station for burning waste in the centre of the capital Sofia
